Story
Max here! I'm a 11 month old, 47 pounds, neutered male, pit bull. I'm still a growing pup so I will be over 55 pounds when I am fully grown. I love to play with people and dogs! I'm fact, playing is the thing I do best! I love running around chasing toys! I also love to get scratched all over! I’m working on my social skills currently, and I've been told I can come on a little strong. I'm just too eager to meet you! I need to work on my manners. I would love to be a model citizen but need help. My new family is required to take me to basic obedience classes, which includes an additional cost at the time of adoptions. I am eager to learn and please, I do a good sit! If you are interested in meeting with me, please submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to adoptinquire@peninsulahumanesociety.org and an adoption counselor will you call and conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet in person. Max ID# A868515!    Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
TAILS DOG! James here! I'm a  2 year old neutered male Chihuahua mix. I'm shy around new people and dogs, but warms up with a little TLC and patience. I'm a sweet boy who will flourish in a quiet home. Ask for James ID# A871482. I’m also a proud graduate of the TAILS program, a partnership between PHS/SPCA and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. “TAILS” stands for Transitioning Animals Into Loving Situations and the program pairs shelter dogs with minimum-security inmates to give the dogs round-the-clock care and gives the inmates an avenue for developing skills and making their time more meaningful. Since I’m not at the shelter, you can make arrangements to meet me or learn more by emailing Samantha Lundquist at:   slundquist@PHS-SPCA.org or calling 650-340-7022 ext. 418. Just ask for JAmes ID# A871482.  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
Hi everyone, I'm Luna. I'm a 77 pound, 4 year old, German Shepherd, spayed female. I am as smart as a whip and would like a family that will keep me occupied, mental and physically. Physically, I'm a strong and active girl. I love going for extra long walks and playing with my toys in the yard. Even though I know a few commands, I still need to work on my impulse control. I especially need help learning how to say hi to other dogs without getting too excited I would not be a good companion for small dogs and cats. If you are interested in meeting with me, please submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to adoptinquire@peninsulahumanesociety.org and an adoption counselor will you call and conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet in person. Ask for Luna ID# A876342Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Story
My Name is Courage. I was found wandering the streets with my little buddy Arnie. Arnie got adopted and I sat in a shelter for 50 days until a lady came along and said she would foster me until I found a furever home. I was a fan favorite at the shelter with the volunteers because I am cute as a button and love to shake your hand. I was a little confused and timid but have come out of my shell in the month and a half I have been fostered and am a FANTASTIC dog. I need a family that does not have other dogs. I want to be your one and only cuddle bug. I LOVE long walks and to smell everything. I am 3 years old and about 67 pounds. I have grat recall, know sit, down, shake and beg. I am happy everytime you walk in the room and love to cuddle before going to bed on my dog bed. I stay in a crate with my foster mom runs errands. Please ADOPT ME!!!!

Story
Courage is a sweet lovable german shepherd, boxer, hound mix. This 3 yr old (67pounds) is smart and loyal. He bonds quickly and will sleep by my feet in my home office while I work. We go for 2 walks a day. He loves to run around the yard and sniff things. He is crate trained but prefers to sleep on a dog bed at night. I put him in the crate when I run errands during the day. Looking for a family who is patient and loving. He needs a family that will work on dog soicialization with him. He is NOT a dog park dog. He can go on walks with other dogs as long as he has his space inbetwen them. He wants to be with his person so no other dog or cat in the family home pleasse. He is potty trained. I saved him from an overcrowded shelter and have committed to training him for 2 months but have 2 dogs of my own and so I got him to foster only. He was labeled as timid but has been a total cuddle bug now that he has been freed. Help me continue to save Courage and find him a furever home.
