Story
Maui has been with our family since she was 8 weeks old. We fell in love with her the day we adopted her from the Marin Humane Society, 12 years ago. Over the years she has been a running mate, beach buddy, hill hiker, active swimmer, emotional support and trusted friend. While she still enjoys being active, she has become deaf and now has grown accustomed to leash life. Between her age, my longer work days and her hearing loss she has started experiencing separation anxiety. After exhausting many methods to help Maui overcome her stress of being alone, sadly nothing has worked. She needs to be with someone who can spend more time with her. Her stress has become my stress and not healthy for either of us. Maui still has a lot of love to give. I’m hoping to find that special someone /family to give her a forever home.

Story
Ruby is a sweetheart with everyone and everything. She was born in Germany & brought to the USA by her 1st owners (who surrendered her to the Marin HS @ 12mo). She is approximately 21mo & 82lb. Ruby has separation anxiety issues and experiences panic level attacks. She needs to be with someone at all times--someone who understands & respects a GSD's intelligence & loyalty--otherwise, she CAN unlock & open doors & WILL escape if left alone. Daily exercise helps her. We believe the 1st owners verbally abused Ruby before she was surrendered to the MHS. It has made her very sensitive and submissive, especially w/ men. We have boarded Ruby part-time for the last 6 months because her current owner’s 12-hr work schedule has eliminated his ability to give her the time & attention she deserves. We will foster her to help him find her a new home. Please let her give you her love & loyalty. Ruby is free and will come with her own food, bed, crate, leash, and toys.

Story
Sunny wants to be your best friend!! He is a 4 year old McNab mix that was adopted by our family 7 months ago from up in Mendocino. He is the sweetest, most loyal pup. He is house trained & just really enjoys our company. He loves to hike/go on walks. He is great on leash unless there are a lot of dogs around. He does have a couple small dog friends and he has been improving on leash around other dogs. Currently he is still reactive/ gets worked up when they pass by. Sunny is quite the cuddler and sleeps in bed with me every night . He spends his day sunbathing out on the deck when I am home with him. Sunny came from an unpredictable / unstable background that has resulted in creating some anxiety with strangers. He is fine with strangers approaching him or coming into the house but growls when being pet at times. He does not act protective and does not have any food aggression. Would do best in home without kids and w/ someone who does not work long hours.

Story
Petey is looking for an agent as he is about to star in your life. Easy to love and anxious to learn, this fun little guy is a quick study and a blast to work with.Petey loves people of the grown-up variety. His resume suggests he's not a fan of kids (an adoption counselor can tell you more about that), so if you're auditioning for that special dog for your child to bond with, Petey asks that you say, "Thank you. Next!" BUT if you're looking for a clever and loving guy to be your new bestie he'd love for you to stop what you're doing and give him a chance!Despite his outgoing appearance, Petey can be a bit shy about new things and noises. But you can encourage him and he'll come around. He's trusting of his grown-up companions and does well with routine. Petey has spent his shelter-in-place time in a great foster home where he is super polite, crates at night, is house trained and knows sit, down, touch, pick-up and spin. He loves searching for hidden treats, interactive food toys, bully sticks, chicken, flirt pole, playing tug, fetch and is learning drop and get it. WOW! He's a multi-talent. When we all get to be together again in school, Petey would enjoy nose work classes. So say hello to Petey. He's ready for his close-up...with you.Petey is enjoying himself in a foster home. Please call 415-506-6225 if you'd like to meet him. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 15 Age: 2yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
Ernie is a nice young dog who will make some lucky family a wonderful companion. He's not showing his true colors at the moment, because he's learning about life after having grown up in a hoarding situation with a lot of small dogs. Ernie is tolerant and social and might be a nice addition to a family with polite kids. In time, he'll start playing with toys, enjoying long walks and outings, and begin seeking the cuddling and attention that he so deserves!Ernie is enjoying himself in a foster home. Please call 415-506-6225 if you'd like to meet him. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 17.4 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks
