Story
A little Mom dog was rescued, along with 5 younger puppies, from a mobile home park in Los Banos. It was clear that this little 3 year old sweetie had a litter of puppies in the last 6 months. Her dachshund/rat terrier puppies  were rescued too but they had no in-home manners, They had been born at the park and are now just over 1 year old. They were all sweet little dogs but are initially shy of new people and hands. They are all spayed/neutered, vaccinationed to appropriate age, and microchipped.0 They needed to unlearn the bad manners they had developed and learn the good manners they would need to be great companion animals. That took time and patience. Cowboy craves attention and loves to be petted and praised for his good behavior. Cowboy is a real ladies boy! He is scared of men. Men must be patient and earn his trust but he is so worth the effort! This little boy is so ready to be with his special family. Has your family been waiting patiently for a special little dog to become a member of your family? Please note: Cowboy is nervous around menNeeds a securely fenced yardMore information & application

Story
Bruiser is a loving 2 1\2 year old wolfhound terrier mix. He is easy going and loves humans. While he gets along with other dogs, he would be best in a home by himself. He is low energy at home. He loves the car and the water. He has leash anxiety and will need someone able to train him how to walk on a leash. He is house broken, has no food aggresion, has basic training such as sit, stay and shake. He is a good boy who is still young and needs someone willing to continue his training.

Story
Little is known of Becky's history. She was rescued from the Monterey Highway and Tully Road when she was about one year old. She has been spayed but the paperwork has been lost. No one ever came looking for this little sweetie so she stayed with her rescuer until very recently. Like Becky, her rescuer has a big heart and over time has rescued several dogs whose first families never came looking for them. Her rescuer recently had to move and needed to find forever homes for some of the animals she had rescued. She felt Becky had a really good chance of finding a wonderful forever family. She is now current with her vaccinations. She enjoys going for walks. She walks nicely on leash. She loves to curl up under a blanket when she's not curled up in someone's lap. Has your family been waiting for a wonderful little  girl like Becky to join your family? Please note: Is crate trainedMore information & application

Debby, spayed female, 1-year-old, 40-lbs If you would like to give DEBBY a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com or log onto abetterchancerescue.org To fill out online application Visit us at Yelp: https://www.yelp.com/biz/a-better-chance-rescue-san-mateo Debby is a one impeccable young pup, she's friendly, playful and loving. When she moves into a new environment, it doesn't take her long to overcome her shyness, and she blends in easily. She’s very cuddly and affectionate toward familiar faces. She enjoys petting and belly rubs very much, as well as playing with her doggie pals in foster home. Her favorite pastime is fetching toys in her mouth and trading them for treats. She’s very food motivated, so is easy to train. The first thing she does in the morning is usually greeting her foster mom with a toy in her mouth along with a big broad welcoming tail wag. Debby follows commands nicely, stays calm around cats and won’t chase after them. She has also learned good sanitary habits: potty trained mainly on pee pad, also under training to potty outside. Debby’s rescue story: It's the first sunny day after two weeks of unceasing rain. On her way home, the rescuer spotted two moving black objects by the ruin temple on the roadside. Moving closer, she found two puppies, probably no more than one-month-old. There was no sight of their mother. How were they going to survive the cold and damp nights without their mother? Without giving it a second thought, the rescuer picked up the puppies and later found them foster families to ready them for adoption. The two lucky puppies were Debby & Donna!
