Story
Chester was sad and nervous at the shelter. Once we rescued him he warmed up fast and was very people friendly. He was dog tested at the shelter but didn't engage. He was fearful of the transporter's dogs (under socialized with dogs) so now he is in an experienced foster home with no other dogs. Cocker Spaniels are sensitive and need time to feel safe first. They want to bond to someone will want to shadow person at home and then will be your best friend. We will see how he does meeting other dogs in a week or two. He is a sweetie. Foster home gave him a bath and feels much better to get all the dirt off him. He can be handled all over by people and vet. He is very puppy like and happy at his foster home. Soon he will get groomed another vet exam for his eyes and neuter. More info. to come.

Story
Tiny Julie was nervous at the shelter but once we rescued her she warmed up and was friendly. She did great with our transport volunteers and at our vet office. She is gentle quiet and very sweet. Julie is so adorable. Update: Julie is now confident spunky and very playful. At her tiny size she can hold her own with other small dogs. Julie needs a home with a yard for her activity level. She follows her dog buddies out doggie door at her foster home. Doing great going to puppy socials. Friendly with everyone. See her video: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=583977602334861

Story
7/20/2018: Update from foster home: Zeke has come along way. When we got him he was so starved you could feel his ribs and hip bones. It's taken him a long time to trust but with his abusive last home that is what is expected. Loves his little squeaky toys (doesn't squeak them) just loves to carry around the house and when done carries them inside his kennel. Kind of a little toy hoarder. He also loves playing with his foster home's little female dog. Very adorable personality. Zeke would be great in a home as an only dog or with another small female companion. He would do best in a home with one person preferable; female since the male was the abuser in his last household. Ezekiel needs to learn that he is safe and feels loved. He does well at temp. vacation foster home (very experienced) with another gentle male dog and loves his walks. He will need an experienced one person adult-only home. NO KIDS since he may nip. Zeke also tries to guard his master. This will take an experienced home that knows to put Zeke away when he exhibits this behavior - most commonly when visitors come to house. He is content being somewhere by himself when guests are visiting. He prefers quiet routine walks around neighborhood. He is fearful at new and busy places. We are looking for a home with someone that is willing to work with him in the situations he is fearful of; public etc.

Story
We rescued Lilly from a shelter. She was timid at the shelter but slowly warmed up. Once out with our transporter she was soooo sweet! Maybe younger than 1 year as she is teething. Very treat motivated but doesn’t know how to walk on a leash. Foster home gave her bath and did light grooming. She needs time to relax learn and get healthier with tons of TLC. More info. and photos to come! Update from foster home: She is not quite potty trained. She is warming up and sitting next to me on the couch. She likes to follow whomever is moving. Sometimes she still gets quite startled. She is a curious dog. Lilly seems to be deaf. She will need another dog at home to guide and follow. All our deaf dogs do great. Rachel was at risk and out of time at a distant crowded shelter. She is super gorgeous and friendly with everyone once she warms up. With change she was nervous at our vet.
