Story
Maui has been with our family since she was 8 weeks old. We fell in love with her the day we adopted her from the Marin Humane Society, 12 years ago. Over the years she has been a running mate, beach buddy, hill hiker, active swimmer, emotional support and trusted friend. While she still enjoys being active, she has become deaf and now has grown accustomed to leash life. Between her age, my longer work days and her hearing loss she has started experiencing separation anxiety. After exhausting many methods to help Maui overcome her stress of being alone, sadly nothing has worked. She needs to be with someone who can spend more time with her. Her stress has become my stress and not healthy for either of us. Maui still has a lot of love to give. I’m hoping to find that special someone /family to give her a forever home.

Story
Ruby is a sweetheart with everyone and everything. She was born in Germany & brought to the USA by her 1st owners (who surrendered her to the Marin HS @ 12mo). She is approximately 21mo & 82lb. Ruby has separation anxiety issues and experiences panic level attacks. She needs to be with someone at all times--someone who understands & respects a GSD's intelligence & loyalty--otherwise, she CAN unlock & open doors & WILL escape if left alone. Daily exercise helps her. We believe the 1st owners verbally abused Ruby before she was surrendered to the MHS. It has made her very sensitive and submissive, especially w/ men. We have boarded Ruby part-time for the last 6 months because her current owner’s 12-hr work schedule has eliminated his ability to give her the time & attention she deserves. We will foster her to help him find her a new home. Please let her give you her love & loyalty. Ruby is free and will come with her own food, bed, crate, leash, and toys.

Story
Sunny wants to be your best friend!! He is a 4 year old McNab mix that was adopted by our family 7 months ago from up in Mendocino. He is the sweetest, most loyal pup. He is house trained & just really enjoys our company. He loves to hike/go on walks. He is great on leash unless there are a lot of dogs around. He does have a couple small dog friends and he has been improving on leash around other dogs. Currently he is still reactive/ gets worked up when they pass by. Sunny is quite the cuddler and sleeps in bed with me every night . He spends his day sunbathing out on the deck when I am home with him. Sunny came from an unpredictable / unstable background that has resulted in creating some anxiety with strangers. He is fine with strangers approaching him or coming into the house but growls when being pet at times. He does not act protective and does not have any food aggression. Would do best in home without kids and w/ someone who does not work long hours.

Story
Meet Sweet and Smart Dalie Dalie, 9 months old, spayed female, 35 lbs I’d never forget that day I met Dalie. It was a raining night. A weak whining sound dragged me and my dog going toward a creek where we discovered a little puppy trembling, lying on her dead sibling bodies. These poor puppies were abandoned and drown in a hole at the creek, and the last survived puppy fortunate got her head up to breath when we found her. I picked up the puppy and rushed to the closest animal hospital. Luckily, her life was saved. In the first month, Dalie frequently woke up from nightmares to whine. I understood it was not easy for her to forget the horrible drowning experience. One of my dogs seemed understanding her sorrow. She acted like a mother to comfort Dalie when she was scared. Gradually, Dalie stopped waking up in the middle of nights. She has overcome her fear with lots of our love. Dalie is now a happy pup. She likes to make friends with dogs and specially get along well with medium and big size dogs. She loves to chase after each other in an open field. Dalie also likes toys. And find squeaky plash toys remarkable. Dalie is food motivated. She is not a picky eater and eats fast. If she discovers you are making her meal, she’ll come to rub up your legs like a kitty to show how much she adores you. When she walks out meeting strangers, she is a little shy and passive to say hello. If she finds treats in their hands, she is cheerful to follow to get some spare. Dalie was born with gentle and intelligent natures. After she bonds, she is cuddly, loyal and responds recalls. Dalie learns to show her wills by rubbing her body on you to tell if she wants something to get attention. When Dalie is happy, she flips her ears back. She loves to play with doggie friends and knowing to avoid aggressive dogs. At home, Dalie makes a good guard dog. She barks for warning if there are strangers coming at the door or overheard unfriendly sounds. Most of time, she stays quiet. Story
Meet Adorable Rita Rita, 10 months old, spayed female, 35 lbs That was a sunny day. We were happily going on a trip to a beautiful hill. When we all enjoyed the nice scenery and waiting for the boutique train to come by, suddenly, we saw a little puppy hopping and rolling on the railroad naively. That scenario really scared all of us, because very soon, a train would be coming. I parked the car near the railroad and ran toward to the puppy. At first, I thought it was going to take a while to get her off the railroad. But it didn’t take much time. The little fellow came straight forward to me and hopped into my arm. Maybe it meant to be my family’s task. We really had a wonderful trip that day with a new joined puppy. After we took Rita home, she gobbled as much food as she could. She must be in hunger for a long time. We were very grateful to take her in and thank God she was doing so well. Rita was born with very sweet and optimistic natures. She loves to cuddle and enjoya nice pettings. Rita is very smart, too. She learned to do potty outdoor and indoor on pee pads. We taught her to sit before getting food. And she learned so quickly. She also likes to play ‘hand/ paw’, because she knows she’ll get a little piece jerky if she does well. Rita is doing very well strangers and children. Sometimes she plays a little rough with dogs, but she never gets into dog fight. Rita likes to chase and play with foster siblings at the yard. When she comes inside, she stays very calm and usually falls asleep quickly. She is a happy and sweet puppy to bring lots of joy to everyone. Rita has a clean bill of health and is ready to find a home to call her own. If you’d like to have an adorable and happy pup to brighten current dull life, you’d not want to miss Rita.
