Story
Hi there, I’m Bob. Foster mama calls me Bobby but she also calls me Bobber, Robby, Robert, Roberto, Bobster, Bobosso…the list goes on and on. I don’t care, I love everything she calls me because I really love my people. And I equally love strangers - I’ll likely roll right over and shamelessly ask for a belly rub from anyone who’ll pay attention to me! An average day for me goes something like this: I roll out of (your) bed where I’ve spent the night sleeping soundly, quiet as a mouse. I’m excited to start a new day by running out to potty then screaming back inside because it’s BREAKFAST time! After breakfast I bee-line for the couch where I cozy up for a morning nap while foster parents get ready for work. Then they say it’s “kennel time” and as much as I hate those words, I trot off to my kennel where I spend the day until they get home. When the foster parents get home, I can hardly contain myself, I’m so excited! I bark and dance to come out of my kennel and I BOLT like a rocket outta there. Then I bark and bounce, run around and jump, and I get a little nippy - you’ll have to be aware of this and work on it with me, sorry. I’m just so excited to be out that I can't help myself. My “distaste” for the kennel comes from my past: last year I was diagnosed with heart worm and had to spend 4 long months on strict kennel rest to limit my activity. It was horrible, I hated it, and developed a little anxiety for the kennel. Now, on my way to 100% heart worm free (yay!), I’ve been working really hard on kennel training again - and making great progress! Back to my day: I usually get a Kong to work out my energy, then maybe a walk, DINNER time, and then spend the evening playing with my foster dog sisters and some toys. I'll snuggle on the couch until bed time, then run to be the first one in (your) bed (Don’t even consider adopting me if you don’t want to sleep with me - snuggling with my humans is the best part of life, period). I live with two dogs and I love them. We wrestle, play chase in the snow, share toys nicely, and snuggle up when it’s time to relax. I can be a little overzealous in meeting new dogs, so intros need to be done slowly, but I’m happy and silly and playful and adapt quickly with dogs my size. I might be a little rough-and-tumble for smaller dogs…I’m not all that graceful. I’ve met a cat once and wasn’t too interested, but it’s been while and I’d have to meet one again to see if I can control my excitement around them. Kids are fun too, though again, I’m clumsy and might knock the little ones over! I’m currently taking Obedience Level 1 and learning to focus and cope with excitement in an appropriate way and improving those skills every day. I’m young and excitable and I’ve still got some “puppy” in me; I can get into mischief sometimes; but overall I’m really easy to live with. I adjust well to almost any home, I'm a good listener, I'm an easy walker, and I love car rides. So, after growing up on the streets and in a shelter in Texas, moving across the country, surviving heart worm, and living in rescue for six months, I’m ready to settle into a forever home and become someone’s can’t-live-without BFF. If you’re “the one,” you’ll foster* me until my last heart worm test in June, then we’ll officially become a family. Follow me on Instagram @adopt_bob and see more of my day to day or to reach out and ask me questions. Then, once you decide that I'm your soul dog, apply to adopt me! *Bob needs one final negative heartworm test to complete his treatment. He's had one negative result already and is currently happy, healthy and under no restrictions! As Bob's foster-to-adopt, Save-a-Bull covers all his expenses and vet care until he officially becomes yours.   Bob is sponsored by Loni S. and by GrimmSpeed If you'd like to sponsor a dog, please click here.

Story
Hi there, I’m Gidget! My foster mom says my head, eyes, and ears are some of my best physical traits. She loves the way I look at her with curiosity as she goes about her business. I am told I had an owner, and that I lived with children before I went to a shelter. When my foster family sprung me out of the shelter, I was very happy to be in warm house. The car ride was a little confusing, but once I got into my foster house I felt very comfortable. I really love squeaky toys. I can sit and squeak them for a long time and I’m pretty happy about it. I like to snuggle my 7-year-old human foster brother and 6-year-old foster sister. I have crawled into bed with them a couple of times. I also live with 2 other dogs at my foster home- 3 year old chihuahua/dachshund mix and 11 year old Volpino- they are both like 10lbs or less so I’m a bit bigger than them but I still love them. I would say that I am a little more dominant only because I really want to play, and when my foster dog residents don’t want to play, I don’t really take the hint and sometimes have to be told by my foster mom to leave them alone since they are a lot smaller than me. I would love to have another dog that likes to play. I’m not quite potty trained, but I’m working really hard at it! I go outside about every 30 min when my foster family is home and I have been learning that outside is a much nicer place to go potty. I sleep and eat in my kennel, and have no problem going into my kennel for my toys and bones. I am pretty comfortable sleeping in my kennel at night but I do kind of fuss when my foster family is leaving for the day. I know they will be coming back. I am told “sit” quite often but don’t really know what that means yet. I know “down”, working on “drop it” ,and know the word “no” if I get a little too rough when playing with toys. I’m still learning but I am super smart so I will definitely pick up on my cues soon. OMG if I could take classes and be around other dogs - I would LOVE that! Q&A WITH GIDGET: Why are you the very best dog in the whole world? My foster mom said the first night I stayed over “Wow, she is the best dog sleeping in a on the first night kennel that we have ever had.” I think that’s because I didn’t make a sound in my kennel after I was put to bed. My foster mom thinks I am really smart since I am listening so much better after only three days of being in her house. I love to snuggle when my humans are relaxing. I hear my foster mom say “Wow, she’s a great dog” a lot- pretty sure I’m the best dog in the whole world. Give us a description of your dream forever family. If I could choose my forever family, it would probably be any kind- I love any and all people around me. I love other dogs, but I am perfectly content hanging out with humans. I would really love to have humans around me most of the day if possible, since I love them so much. We could be active, go for a run, go to social events, or just hang out at home. What TV or movie character are you most like and why? My foster mom named me Gidget from Secret Life of Pets because I have an extremely cute face like that little Pomeranian in the movie. What are some of your favorite toys?  I LOVE squeaky toys and toys I can play tug of war with. I do like to fetch balls with squeakers as well. Play all day or cuddles and snoozes? I could do whatever my humans want to do and be super duper happy with it. What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything? When my humans come home and let me out of the kennel I am sooooo happy. I love to go on walks, and I love to be played with. I am super easy to please. What would your dream day consist of? My dream day would just consist of being with you. <3

Story
Hi, I'm Poppy and I'm practically perfect in every way. Let me tell you why: I'm energetic, affectionate and very smart. I've had extensive obedience training so I'm an all-star at sit, stay, down and come; I don't beg for people food; I'm an excellent loose-leash walker; and if you leave the gate open, I won't even leave the yard. I love to train and learn and I'll do almost anything for a little bit of your attention. I'm the perfect balance of active and lazy. The best day day would consist of a little exercise then watching a movie on the couch with my people. I absolutely LOVE summer outdoor adventures! If we could go hiking, play fetch, camp, swim and kayak all the time, I'd be the happiest dog in the whole world! I'm pretty chill and willing to try almost anything so I'd be eager to go on a new adventure every day. And bring your friends, I love meeting new people! Winter is my least favorite time of year, I don't like the cold; so when the season changes, I'd like to just snuggle on your lap with a blanket if you don't mind. I'm a great cuddle and I love to eat popcorn and binge watch the latest shows on TV. Let's hibernate together! In exchange for all this awesomeness, I ask for just one thing in return: I need to live in a home with no other pets or small children. The commotion of a busy household stresses me out, I get anxious and I tend to lash out at other animals. I’ll need a little dog-management outside of the house as well; just to be aware of other dogs in the area and keep my focus on you so I don't get stressed out. I'm pretty good at "watch me" and "look" so it's just a routine we'll have to work on together.   Here's some more fun facts about me: If you were a dessert, what would you be? Ice cream Squeaky or bouncy — what do you look for in a toy? Bouncy!      What do you value most in a friendship? Attention Do you have a nickname? I sure do! Poppy Love and Popperoni Favorite kind of music? Anything my mom sings to me. All in all, I'm pretty darn amazing if you'll just give me a chance. Everything I have going for me far outweighs my dislike for other dogs. I know my perfect person or family is out there, looking for a girl just like me. And I can't wait until they find me and we can start our brand new lives together! Note: Poppy has a mild thyroid issue, but a daily pill manages it! Story
Hi, my name is Loki. Fast facts about me – I am fully potty trained, I love any kind of ball (if it squeaks, even better), I am super smart, and I love dogs and humans.  My happy dance is also the best you will ever see!  One of my favorite activities is going for a walk.  I love to explore new places and get super excited to ride along with you.  My foster mom started taking me on hikes and those are the best.  I love being outside and exploring nature with human and dog friends.  After a good walk, I enjoy snuggling under a blanket with you or chewing on a squeaky toy.  I am very dog social and enjoy living with another dog friend.  My foster sister is a 75-pound pittie mix and I get along with her great.  If we are not following the human around the house like a shadow, we will snuggle on the couch together.  Occasionally we chase each other around the house and wrestle.  Sometimes my fur sister is not in the mood to play and I leave her be when she asks me to.  I don’t get cats, they don’t like to play, and so I shouldn’t live with any – dogs only, please! I just really like a quiet, laid back lifestyle.  I prefer to live with older children that understand my boundaries.  My paws can be a little sensitive and I don’t enjoy when they are touched.  I grew up in the country and like the peace and quiet. I do okay in my kennel as long as it’s calm around me. If I hear a lot of noises, I just have to bark at it and would probably drive apartment neighbors crazy. So, I’m working on the kennel thing, but I’m really good at sit, come, stay, and leave it. I LOVE treats and will do anything for a yummy snack or peanut butter.  Speaking of treats, I get a cheese or hot dog snack before breakfast and dinner.  This snack hides a pill I take for my anxiety and I would need to continue it in my future home.  I can’t wait to meet the perfect family that takes me on walks, snuggles on the couch, sneaks me snacks, and tells me I am the best boy in the whole world.  I promise to make you laugh every day with my goofy shenanigans and happy go lucky personality!    Loki is sponsored by Karen M. and by GrimmSpeed If you'd like to sponsor a dog, please click here.

Story
Hello, I’m Nixi. I am a small girl with interesting coloring – I have shades of light brown with gray and black streaks.  I also have very expressive eyes. I did not have a very good start in life; I wasn’t taken to the Vet or treated very well. I never got to leave my house and spent a lot of time sitting in my kennel. My new life is so much better, my foster parents love me and I get lots of attention! I am still a puppy, so I like to play hard and then take a nice nap, preferably snuggling with someone. I love to explore and walking around outside is perfect for exploring. I am very timid initially, but I gradually get closer and brave and need to explore everything. I am working on potty training, I’m doing really well and I’m almost all the way there. I have a great set-up in my kennel – nice soft blankets and a favorite toy, and I usually get a nice treat when I go into my kennel. No complaints here. Right now I am sleeping in my kennel at night. I can sit, and I like to show off my skills. I am working on leave-it, that’s a tough one when all you want to do is explore and check stuff out. I am also working on stay. I would love to spend time with my new family taking training classes. I am very food motivated! A good atta-girl is okay too, but treats are #1 in my book. I lived with a 3 year old before and I loved him. He was so much fun to play with. I lived with another dog before and we got along great. I am currently living with another pit bull and we get along fine. I sometimes get a little over-excited, but I do settle down. I just want to play and have fun. I may be a little dominant, but I will eventually figure out how to read other dogs’ moods. I have not been around a cat, so I’m not sure how I would be. I love to wrestle and run around. Remember, I’m still a puppy and I have lots of energy! I love to please people; I listen well and love to cuddle. I just need another chance at being with a loving family. Because I am very food motivated, I am easy to re-direct and train. I would love a family with some kids and maybe another dog. I need lots of love and understanding. I love a nice plush toy to fling around and chew (I haven’t destroyed any yet) I also like a Benebone or something hard to chew on, it’s very relaxing. My dream day would consist of lots of treats, spending time outside with my family and end with a lot of snuggles. I would love to meet you!
