Story
Welcome Banjo. Available through CCPAL He is 3.5-year-old Boxer/Lab or Dalmatian mix. He was a house dog and so we notice he holds it in his kennel to go in the yard. He is good with other dogs and about 55 pounds. We are working on his leash manners and he is coming along nicely. The owners that turned him in did say he was house trained. He is good in a car and will make some family a good companion. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or transported to the East Coast, Oregon, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois or Vermont. He loves other dogs and has lived in a home with another dog so he probably would prefer a home with another dog. He has the most adorable markings on his face. Looks like he had a rough night and was tired when putting on his makeup. He missed his eyelid on one eye and slipped with the eyeliner on the other eye. He and his brother can be adopted separately. He is up on his shots, neutered, healthy and ready for his forever home. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. He’s a 15 lb, Miniature schnauzer who loves getting attention and cuddling. Things are going well in Watson’s foster home.   His personality is starting to come out.  He gets goofy at times and play bows.  When on the couch, he's quite the snuggle bug. He enjoys fish treats, walks to the couch, and is starting to play with his toy dragon.  Watson is taking Apoquel to help with seasonal allergies and has a sensitive stomach, so he's eating Woody's cooked raw beef and brown rice and doing well with it. He hasn't been tested around little kids, he leaves the resident cat alone, and seems to play well with similar sized dogs.  Since he's an older gentleman, he knows quite a few commands, sit, come, kennel/crate, wait, outside, go potty, stop, and out (like he needs to leave the kitchen).  He's pretty much potty trained but sometimes goes in the belly band.  He is fully crate trained though. He would do great in his forever home with another dog and a fenced in yard.  Watson will tell you what he wants.  He barks when he's hungry or if you go get the mail without him.  He just wants to be with you.  Watson is such a sweet old man, who just loves nothing more than cuddling.  He currently sleeps with 3 other dogs and his foster mama wakes up to his head resting on her.  What a sweetheart! Watson just wants someone to love him and take care of him.  He will make his future family so happy.   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. My other safe place is foster mom's closet.  I’m getting braver every day as I periodically leave my safe place to go find where my foster family is and just to see what’s going on…I may be timid, but I’m inquisitive and like to check out the goings on in my foster home. I am potty trained for the most part especially if nothing scares me, but I don’t voice my desire or need to go out, so I will sometimes potty in the house if you don't keep me on a schedule.  I just know though that once I understand that I’m really safe with and loved by my family I will hopefully let my people know when I need to potty. I do really well in my foster family's fenced yard and go straight out once she opens the door and come back in easily as well. I like to sniff around the yard and enjoy the sunshine. I will walk whilst tethered to one of those leash things, but I startle very easily and tend to run away if something frightens me, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me. I am also afraid of loud noises, overwhelming commotion, and new things in general, so I’m not really sure how I would do with those little people, other dogs, or those purring things. My foster mom says that I’m a pretty girl and I must admit that I completely agree with her…she’s very smart!  I am also a fast learner who is becoming more curious and interested in my surroundings every day.  I have an enormous amount of unconditional love to share and would love nothing more than to find a furever home with someone who will love me unconditionally and keep me safe…I want so much to be safe and loved because I know that will help me blossom into the confident girl I was destined to be. I might be a little bit of a project because I am so timid but it will make every new milestone all the more exciting. If you are the person who would like to help me become more confident, I would really like to meet you.  Please come take me to my new furever home, I’ll be here waiting for you!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. I am a bit skittish, I will admit, around things that move quickly, loud noises, and a lot of commotion, but I think you would be a bit nervous too if you only had one eye.  My foster mom puts this antibiotic ointment in my eye twice a day. I’m not crazy about it, but I know she’s doing it for my own benefit and I guess I figure that I should probably get used to it since I may need to have ointment or eye drops put in my eye on a long term basis.  I am a very happy girl and I love food.  I get very excited when my foster mom is getting ready to feed me…as a matter of fact I get so excited that I can’t help snorting! Look, don’t judge me…some people do it when they laugh…I do it when it’s time to eat!! I am not sure how I would do with kids or cats since quick movements scare me, but I’m good with other small doggies. My foster mom and me are working on potty, leash, and crate training.  I don’t like that crate thing or being left alone, and believe me I will voice my discontent.  As for the leash…well it just seems unnatural to walk while tethered to a rope, so my body just stops working…I mean…it just stops!!  I think a fenced yard is the best thing for me since I have not yet mastered that rope! Please come meet take and me to my new furever home so we can give each other the unconditional love I know we both need and deserve.  I’ll be here waiting for you!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
Welcome Guilley to CCPAL. He is a 1.5-year-old Boxer/Terrier mix. He has the most adorable wonky ears. He is very active and will be great for a runner, hiker or outdoorsy enthusiast. He is best in a harness and pulls some when another dog is there to play with. He probably wasn’t raised with another dog. A dog who has been around other dogs can read the ques that you are irritating them. He misses some of the ques so he can be too energetic for the more laid-back dogs. Troy has done an amazing job with him and he can now play off lead with 5 other alphas in the rescue off leash. That being said, he would be a great family pet with older kiddos due to his energy and someone who is athletic. He would be an AMAZING running partner and since he was raised as an only dog, we would like to keep him as an only dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with a transporter to deliver him to the East Coast, Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Wisconsin or Vermont. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. For some active family this boy will be a great fit. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. I’m a 3 year old Ori Pei, which is a mix between a Chinese Shar Pei and Pug! I am only about 28lbs. I have a few new favorite hobbies since moving in to my foster home: Treats! Oh, boy do I enjoy treats! And there are so many different kinds! Watching TV is pretty fun too... my foster mom thinks i’m hilarious because I actually do watch tv. And then there’s napping in these super soft dog beds. I guess you could say home life is pretty great! I get along well with my foster siblings and would need a dog in my forever home to continue to show me the ropes. I haven’t met any cats but, I don’t think I would mind them. I am a very good boy in my crate and getting better at potty training every day! I am still a little hesitant of people but my confidence has grown tremendously since coming into rescue. I would love a forever family to continue to show me what this good life is all about!
