Story
He is 8 years old and a black lab/pit mix. He is neutered. He was born on a farm and lived there his whole life but my grandparents recently sold their farm due to old age. They did not have a plan for him so I took him in temporarily. I have tried the Humane Society and have been told they would put him to sleep because of his separation anxiety. He doesn't really like to be left alone in the house or enclosed alone, so he tends to make a mess i.e chewing. However, he does great with other dogs! He gets along well with my two year old sheperd mix(they wrestle a lot because my shepherd loves him). When they are home together, they usually do not get into a mess. If Chester is crated in his area, he will cry a bit but once my dog joins him he is all relaxed. I would LOVE for Chester to go to a home that already has a dog family, he will excel in this kind of environment. Please understand that it isn't his fault with the way he is or his behavior. He needs someone loving and patie

Story
Pepper is a three year old aussie mix that is house trained and crate trained. We put her in her crate at night, and during the day-when no one is home. Sometimes she whines a little at night, but not for long. Since Pepper is deaf, we are working on getting her to watch us for directions/encouragement. She knows "sit" and "lay down" and also knows to "come" when we flash the light in the backyard in the dark and also in the house. Pepper wants to be with people all the time and will follow us as we go about chores in the house or yard. She has lots of energy and while she doesn't necessarily bring a ball back, when we throw it she chases it as fast as she can. She gets along with her foster sister well but with Lucy being really shy and Pepper still learning to play with others, they don't play together too much, yet. She has never been aggressive with people or other dogs that we have seen. We don't have cats so cant really speak to that, but she did pretty good with Shiloh, the blind and deaf puppy we fostered for a short time. The little bit we had her on a leash, she did very well and loves to be outside. Pepper is really doing well and just wants to be loved and kept busy! Typical Aussie! It's hard to remember she's deaf! Although she slept through that very loud thunderstorm the other night! All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
RE 21F LE 55565 GS HossHi, I'm Hoss! I'm a laid-back guy who can be pretty cuddly and loves getting pets. I'm very sweet and gentle, even with the kids that I live with. Every so often I'd prefer my own space, especially if I'm eating a special snack or taking an especially deep nap. I have a pretty strict personal schedule, and I like to get up around 6 am right now - if people aren't ready to be awake, I make a tiny bit of a fuss. There's a lot of petting to be done, you know! I love getting attention of any kind, did I mention that? I'm quite the collector, my biggest prize so far has been a backpack that I carried across the house - I don't chew, I just want it near me. Sometimes I like to bring a shoe over to my bed to keep me company while all the people are gone, but I promise I haven't caused any real mischief so far! Every so often I will give a bark or two when I hear noise outside, so I think I'd prefer a house over an apartment as my forever home. I also let you know that I need to go outside with a bark or two. I like going on walks when it's warm enough, although I enjoy being outside anytime it's not absolutely freezing! I will sneak onto beds and couches when no one is home, but I'm currently pretending that I cannot jump into the car. I've got a mind of my own! I'm curious and polite about meeting all the dogs and people in my neighborhood, and I get especially excited when I see someone out running! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Boc's Betty Jo R 64D L 64216Hi, I'm Betty Jo, but sometimes my foster mom calls me JoJo. I'm a quiet, gentle girl who is pretty independent and likes my space and quiet time right now. I'm still learning about the special treats and comforts of retirement, a little bit at a time.  I would rather not be asked to socialize too much right now, because I'm still figuring out my new world and want to take all of these new experiences at my own pace.  I need support and reinforcement to feel confident in my new world and my personality will shine! I had a phenomenal racing career and had 3 litters of pups, so I'm ready for some pampering! I've recovered from an injury and leg amputation so I'd do best in a home without stairs and I prefer short walks.  Overall, I'm an amazing mama hound that deserves to be well loved and catered to in my retirement. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
lists her as 50% Sheltie/German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees) who was returned from the home we placed her in due to guarding issues. She is sweet and loves attention (a lap dog wanna-be). She is good off leash, is house and crate trained and has good house manners. Roxy is definetely a watch dog and barks to let you know if anything is going on (wildlife, visitors, noises). We see a lot of GSD and G. Pyr. traits in her and she doesn't tolerate aggressive "training" methods. She would be best in a home with no other dogs or a tolerant dog that isn't interested in resource guarding. She currently lives with 6 other dogs and only has issues with the other resource guarder. She is also currently living with dog savvy cats that don't run from dogs but we are hesitant to say she is completely cat safe. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org.
