Story
Hello. We are grief stricken to admit we've tried everything we can with our loving Mountain Cur, Molly; however, she is very destructive to our new home: biting up the trim, tearing up the carpets, and causing other damage. Please aid us in finding her a good home. We believe she'd be very well suited for a farm or a house with an outside kennel. I'm sure she'd also be a very good hunting dog. Please contact me.

Story
Every minute matters when it comes to rescuing a Shih Tzu.  We may get a short notice that someone needs to surrender their dog or a puppy mill dog needs a temporary home. We can’t help if we don’t have families willing to foster, and we are always in need of more foster homes! If you live in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Rockford or Chicago, IL areas and want to help save lives, please complete either our online Foster Sign-Up or download a word version here: http://www.northstarshihtzurescue.org/foster/ (please note: neither dog pictured are available to foster or adopt, both are in their forever homes) NorthStar Shih Tzu Rescue exists to benefit both Shih Tzu and Shih Tzu blend dogs and the people of our community. We operate as a no-kill rescue that provides rescue and adoption services, and meaningful outreach programs in order to advance the welfare of these companion animals, to serve and educate our community, and to make a positive, loving impact on the lives of both. NorthStar, located in Excelsior, MN, actively works to rescue Shih Tzu and Shih Tzu blend dogs from dangerous environments and shelters with the ultimate goal of placing them in loving, permanent, adoptive homes. We rescue unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs. We have them vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, provide other medical care, and rehabilitate them in carefully selected foster homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on the benefits of adopting an animal in need as well as responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, good nutrition, and positive behavior training. We strive to increase public awareness about companion animal overpopulation, commercial breeders, and to offer solutions to end the killing of adoptable animals. We work in alliance with local animal shelters, pounds, other rescue groups, and humane society organizations to ensure these animals are not forgotten. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello!  I'm a bright, bowlegged, and beautiful terrier mix named Emma.  I'm about 8 years old, and with that age comes wisdom - I have never made a mess in the house, and you can trust me not to chew on any furniture.  That kind of puppy behavior is not regal enough for me! I'm very responsible, and my foster mom trusts me to have the run of the house when she's gone. My favorite thing to do is snuggle, and when it's sleep time I'll get right up in your bed and crawl under the covers.  I'm an easy going gal that loves long walks and I'll play if you want to! I also love taking car rides, and will even sing to keep you company on the road.  I am interested in other dogs, so my foster mom thinks that with slow introductions I might do good with living with another one.  I've never been around cats.  When I go on long walks I am always very excited to see kiddos, so my forever family might have elementary school age or older kids. I was a stray before my foster mom took me in and had some issues with my knee, but The Rescue Crew got me the surgery I needed and I'm recovered and ready to give my new forever family all the love and snuggles they can handle!  Have you seen them? Please tell them about me, I'm waiting for them! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Daniel. I was out in a remote area on the reservation. A prime spot for doggies like me to be dumped. See Pit bull's are banned on the reservation. When I was found I was very skinny and hungry but my rescuer said I was very friendly. Jumped right in her car and was ready to go. I got to stay at a really nice ladies house for a few days and I got along great with the other dogs and even the horse. After that I went to boarding and I was a staff favorite they said. Just a happy and friendly boy. I just got to my new foster here with the Rescue Crew so check back soon for updates after I get settled in and my new foster family gets to know me. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.American Bulldog/Pit Bull Mix | 3 years old | 75 pounds | Adoption Fee $225 Hi, friends! They call me Champ. I am a handsome, sturdy boy part Doberman Pinscher part American Staffordshire Terrier who loves to run around in the backyard (especially if there’s snow!) and then come inside and snuggle with you. (I am an excellent heat source in bed if you like nighttime snuggling!) I am a solid 75 pounds, and I look like a deer bounding around on my long legs. I don’t shed very much and have a nice easy-care coat.   I lived with another dog at my previous home, and I would probably enjoy another big dog to wrestle with. I love chew toys, and I will even play a cute game of catch with myself. (I throw the toy, then run after it!) And I love a good game of tug of war!     I don’t get into other people’s belongings, but my foster mom keeps me in a kennel when she’s at work. I do stand at the window and bark at creatures, and she doesn’t want me doing that all day. For that reason, I’m probably not suitable for a townhouse where someone could hear me bark, or for a home with cats or other small animals. I might knock a small child over, but I think an older kid and I could have some fun, especially if they would throw sticks for me.   I tend to like women more than men and can be hesitant when meeting new people especially if they are of the male persuasion. I can learn to like you if you are a man but it may take me a little longer to trust you. I'm a ladies man at heart!   I learn really quickly, too. I know “sit,” “shake,” and “drop,” and I’d be happy to learn more! I never have accidents in the house, ever.   So, can I interest you in a friendly, smart guy who has some energy but loves his cuddle time, too? Champ’s my name – let’s talk!   The most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org.  You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pit Bull-Type Dog | 2-years old | 65 pounds | Adoption Fee: $400  Meet Avon.  "Dilute brindle" is the name of her coloring. "Adorable mushball" is how we would describe her personality. Avon  is a sweet, shy and gorgeous blocky headed gal who is now up for adoption.  She's a beautiful girl and does well with other dogs. Cats are unknown, but she loves all humans...just give her a few seconds to warm up to you so she knows that your friendly and she is save and she'll be right up in your lap kindly asking for belly rubs (or treats, treats would be preferred followed by a nice belly rub and head scratch). The adoption fee covers the cost of the animal's spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, FIV/FeLK testing (for cats) or Heartworm Testing (for dogs), deworming and all core age appropriate vaccinations.  For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org.  You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
