Story
Belle was adopted from a Humane Society after being transferred from a shelter in Georgia. We have had her for 7 years but need to re-home her to make room for a support dog for my daughter. Belle has also taken to resource guarding (primarily her food) and would do better in a home where she is the only dog or the owner can train her to not worry about her food and possessions. She is an incredibly fast runner and loves to chase rabbits. A large fenced yard is ideal. She also loves to be pet and will cuddle on the couch for hours. She is house trained and hasn’t had an accident for years. She is timid with strangers but is very friendly with those she knows. Fireworks and gunshots are scary for her. She is healthy, though her eyes tend to water and she seems to have seasonal allergies, which improves with medicine. She has only used the medicine about 3 weeks out of the year. Her DNA test shows her to be mixed with Jack Russell Terrier.

Story
We are looking for a new home for a Jack Russell Terrier, Pablo. He has been a joy to have around, but with a new infant who may be allergic to the dog and an active toddler, we find ourselves not having enough time or energy to give Pablo the attention that he deserves and needs. We have put great thought into this, and will miss him dearly. We know that this is the best for his physical, mental, and emotional well being. Pablo is 10 years old and I fully housebroken. He is a runner and needs to be fenced in at all times when outdoors. He is good with kids but not with other dogs. He enjoys having his own space. He has never been aggressive with any humans.

Story
Dottie Mae and her best friend Charlie Bucket (named for a character in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory), were part of a 5 dog family that was surrendered when their owner moved into a nursing home. They are a bonded pair that needs to stay together - when separated they become very anxious. Both are lap dogs (Charlie gets jealous if Dottie gets more attention than he), both walks well on leash and love to ride in the car. Dottie and Charlie can be cautious meeting new people, and bark when meeting new dogs – this behavior could be leash reactivity, but the foster doesn’t let them get nose-to-nose with any other dog. Dottie is fully housetrained, and has a high pitched bark when she has to go outside. Charlie’s cues are more subtle (pacing), and if you miss them he will have accidents in the house. The foster has started using belly band to curb accidents. Both can be kenneled for up to 8 hrs and both sleep with the 15 yr old girl in the home. They come when called and like to rough-house with each other. They both do well with baths and nail trimming, and they groom each other daily. Very sweet pair of pups that needs to stay together. Charlie tends to bark a lot, so they wouldn’t be suitable for a condo, apartment or townhome. They don’t have any experience living with young children – any kids in their adoptive home should be respectful 10-12 yr of age. No cat experience. Charlie is a 2 yr old male Lhasa/Chihuahua mix that weighs 7#. He is neutered, and current on distemper and rabies vaccinations. In July of this year he had a dental cleaning – no extractions needed. His microchip is registered to Second Chance. Dottie Mae is a 2 yr old female Lhasa/ ?Chihuahua mix that weighs 8.5#. She is spayed, and current on distemper and rabies vaccinations. Her DOB is 7/2017. Dottie had a dental on 7/17/19 - one retained baby tooth was extracted. Her microchip is registered to Second Chance. The adoption fee for the pair is $600. If you have any questions, or would like to meet this Charlie and Dottie, please call 651-771-5662.

Story
I adopted Clyde from the human society when I adopted him I was fully confident I’d be able to care for him and provide him with the best home unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. Although he is a great dog I haven’t been able to provide him with the attention and time he truly deserves. Between my two children, cat, and other small dog he’s been left out and just needs way more one on one time and attention.
