Sweet Gertie is ready for you! Gertie is a senior with spunk! She loves to go on casual walks, play, twirl and snuggle. She weighs approximately 13 lbs. and could stand to lose a few more pounds as she continues to reach her goal. Gertie loves being with her human(s). She wants nothing more than to be your companion, spending quality time snuggled up on your cozy lap. Gertie can live with other dogs, cats, or as a one and only -- her happy place is with you! Gertie's best home would be quiet, a secure fenced yard, actively going on walks and retired. A home with no stairs is best or very few as Gertie is a senior dachshund who must have proper care for her back. Gertie is fed a quality senior kibble, takes a daily joint supplement along with other supplements that promote overall health. She is healthy girl with age related aches. Story
**PLEASE READ** Sweet, spunky, sparkling Maggie is ready for her best lifetime home! Maggie is an absolutely beautiful girl; but more than this, she is extra special in many other ways. Therefore, we are looking for an extra-special adopter. So please look beyond Maggie's gorgeous appearance and carefully read what Maggie needs for her happiest life. Maggie was surrendered to us when her previous guardians could not care for her properly, causing an excessive and dangerous amount of weight gain. All this stress on Maggie's little body created a back injury, rendering Maggie completely helpless and unable to walk. With months of the very best of our care Maggie is now at her ideal weight of 15-16 pounds, and she is strong, healthy, spry and plays with toys with abandon! Maggie's best home will be one level with access to an outside tidy, fully fenced yard and manicured lawn; no stairs; someone willing to install ramps if needed; a home with a small doggie and/or kitty friend; no children or large dogs; someone home full or part time; and someone experienced, willing and able to continue with Maggie's gentle lifestyle of strolls around a grassy yard, slow and steady walks on flat trails and visits to the beach. Maggie will come with her special supplements and food recommendations, in addition to lots of guidance and education on how to keep her body healthy. If you have experience with special doxies like Maggie, and feel you can meet the above requirements please send us an email - hearts4doxies@gmail.com telling us in detail why you feel you can give Maggie her best life. If we feel you may be a match we will then ask you to submit an application.

Story
Meet Bea, she is a (roughly) ten year old beagle/hound mix from Florida. My husband adopted her from the humane society last year. She was a happy dog and adjusted well to our home and life. This last August my husband decided to leave and did not take his little girl with him. I had to move in with my parents and that’s where problems started. Bea has an aversion to my mother. She barks and lunges at her whenever she gets the chance. All attempts at rekindling a bond between them have failed and thus Bea and my mother need an environment in which they can live comfortably. Bea is a proper old lady and likes gentle and well mannered people. She needs to lose a few pounds as my dad gives in to treat demands. She also would benefit from a consistent walk schedule. Bea loves to just lay down next to you and hang out. She would benefit from a home without children and preferably without other pets.

Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3. Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to cover medical bills. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase QuickPay, PayPal, or cash. Sori  Sori 1 year old, 28 lbs roughly, female, Sapsali/Jindo mix possibly, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, up to date on shots & treated for giradia to be on the safe side. Sori & her friends who were also rescued from the most horrific situation that is soul destroying. They were rescued from a filthy unimaginable side of the road meat farm where dogs were for human consumption with absolutely nothing to protect them from the elements even the hottest day in Summer in Korea. Thankfully the amazing Korean rescue went in & rescued everyone who was there & saved their precious lives. Sori was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Sori was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving forever home. As we know this angel on earth was from a pure death camp & deserves to be cherished & adored as she should be. Sori loves to play with other dogs so she would definitely need another playful dog or dogs in the the home so this is mandatory in her new loving forever home. She would also do best with a home with a fully fenced backyard. Sori also was with Sarang another little dog from Korea who adore each other. This lady is affectionate & wants you to pat & rub her face but at first she takes a long while to warm up to. Sori absolutely loves, loves to play with toys & especially squeaky toys. Sori will still need to put on weight as when she was rescued she was very thin but definitely still loves to eat. We are working on putting weight on this lovely girl. As you can imagine everything is new to this little lady. Sori truly loves to be cuddled & given love, she has not been picked up & carried to much but we have picked her up & carried her so this is new to her. Sori rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good car ride. This sweet girl still needs to be taught to walk on a collar & leash or harness as of course this is all new to her. Sori has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs so she must go to a forever home with another dogs present in the home as she truly loves other dogs & loves to play with them. Sori is is roughly 28 lbs, 1 year old, perhaps a Sapsali/Jindo mix, female & still needs to put on weight which we are working on, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots, heart worm negative & dewormed & automatically treated for giradia. We have spent more financially on Sori than her adoption fee covers, on rescuing her & transporting her, socializing her here along with her medical care that her fee does not come close to her costs we have spent on her & rescuing her. Sori has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We do think a home with older children would work with dog experience. We were not there when Sori was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.  As with all of our rescues & Sori’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Sori potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.  We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Sori & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Sori who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Sori has an adoption fee of $765 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Story
I've had Sam for over two years now. She's an incredibly friendly and loving girl who loves playing with tennis balls and getting lots of love. She does well with young children but not so much with other dogs or cats. I'm looking for a forever home for her; Sam is trained to sit, stay, and other basic commands but recently got out and killed a cat in my neighborhood so she has a high prey drive and will need some more training. It breaks my heart to get rid of her but I don't have time and money to give her the proper training she needs. I want her to have the best home possible. A house with fenced back yard where she can run freely.
