Story
Oh, Sweetie Rhea... you’ve come such a long way! When she came to us she had never seen the outdoors; she’d been confined to an apartment since birth. Her owners kept her hidden from the landlord, and when they had to move out, they opted to surrender her in order to give a chance to a better life. She was terrified of everything and everyone. Her foster family couldn’t get her out of her crate for days. Slowly she grew more confident and started showing her beauty and uniqueness. And now, let’s just say that Sweetie Rhea would be voted as most confident and most likely to organize an “All dogs matter” rally! She is loyal and will protect her human with all her being. She loves hard and takes cuddle time very seriously; it’s what she loves to do most... kiss and cuddle. Sweetie is a 3-year-old Dachshund-chi mix. We don’t know how she can contain such a huge heart in such a tiny little 7 lb body. If you’re interested in meeting Sweetie Rhea, please complete an Adoption Interest Application on our website www.jointhescars.org.

Story
Barney and Bailey are a bonded pair. They came to the SCARS after their Daddy passed away and friends of the family could no longer care for them. They were so very loved. Barney and Bailey are looking for a forever home where they can live happily together and bring love to a new home. They are both very affectionate and sweet. Bailey is 9 years young and Barney is 8, however, don't let their age fool you... they are full of spunk and are always ready for a cuddle session with any human. These two are also local celebrities as they got to attend the Hallmark's Channel annual American Rescue Dog Show. They were VIP's and got to hang out backstage along with all the big stars of the night. They even go to be a part of an interview with the one and only Larissa Wohl. If you are looking for a pair of loving, loyal and beautiful new family members, these treasures are the ones to bring home.

Story
GLENDORA, CA. REHOME OR RESCUE NEEDED Jay is an approximately 3 year old German Shepherd/Akita mix. He needs to be rehomed to an experienced working breed owner. He is fixed, up to date on his vaccines and is potty trained. He is high energy, wants to please and is food motivated. He is not accustomed to being around other dogs and prefers to be an only dog currently but with a proper handler and training this could definitely change. When he is at ease with an individual he is sweet and demure. He currently has a hard time with select males. He is in dire need of a committed owner who can take him to basic obedience training along with taking him running and hiking for his energy to get out. He is currently an indoor dog is great with the children of the home. If you are interested in making Jay a part of your home a homecheck.

Story
This is Jack! He’s looking for a new place to live. We have to move and can't take him with us. It breaks our hearts to give him up, but we're hoping to find him a good, loving home. He’s a mix between a German Pointer and a Pit, and weighs about 75 lbs. He’s super sweet, gentle, and loving. He is house trained and well-behaved. He loves taking walks and cuddling. Jack is great with adults and children and gets along with other dogs and cats. He even gets along with our chickens! Everyone who meets Jack falls in love with him! Jack doesn’t like being alone outside at night. He is about 7 years old, is fixed, and is up to date on vaccinations. He has been well cared for and is loved dearly.

Story
Anya Corazon is a sweet affectionate girl. She enjoys playtime with other pups however favors human time above anything else... even treats! Anya is shy and struggles with separation anxiety. She will need a family that will work through her initial fears. She is hesitant at first, however her heart is full of love and trust, and when comfortable, she shows her spunky and sweet side. Unfortunately, in such a short time on this earth as a sweet puppy, she has already witnessed the ugly side of how some humans can be towards animals. Luckily, she was rescued out of that environment and is now enjoying love, peace, and healing under her foster mama's care. She is available for adoption and thrilled to be loved forever!
