Story
We don’t know much about Luca’s life before he came into Rescue but we do know he suffered many years of abuse and neglect. Luca was found as a stray; his physical condition was very poor the result of living outside without shelter, food or basic care. Of all the things we do not know about Luca we do know one, very important thing about him…. his will to live. Luca has overcome his physical challenges and is now healthy and thriving. He appreciates every day and finds joy in being a “house-hound”….. his favorite place in the house is his foster mom’s bed. He snuggles with her every night and loves to burrow in blankets. According to Luca, a dog can “never have too many blankets”. It has been our job in Rescue to not only provide him with the medical support and care he needed to get healthy but to insure he never again is without a safe place to live and that he always has as many blankets as he wants. Luca’s on-going medical care is minimal, he takes Hepato Support, an Rx supplement (milk thistle) that strengenths his live; he is also on a soft , fresh food diet made by the Fresh Pet company. We would like his permanent home to continue using both of these items. Luca is a little shy when meeting new humans but he is very comfortable with other dogs; having a dog companion in his new home would be helpful. Luca does need assistance with learning some basic dog skills such as walking on leash. He has shown a bit of fear and associates a leash with a negative experience. He will go outside to potty if someone goes with him or if the door remains open so he knows he can come back inside and won’t be left outside. For Luca to continue to evolve and thrive we feel that his new home should have someone who can be home with him to help guide and encourage him to overcome his uncertainesses and to help him feel safe in his new surroundings. Someone who is experienced working with Rescue Dogs would be beneficial. A dog friend in the family and having a bit of secure outdoor space to potty will help him make a successful transition from orphan to family member.

The dry eye condition will require eye drops forever and we know he likes eye drop time because they are soothing.   --- Come meet our dogs Saturdays and Sundays at Petsmart in Costa Mesa from 11:30-2:30. Story
Douglas is a sweet six year old Catahoula. She has been in my care since an old roommate started doing drugs after her rescued her. Her original owner used her for breeding/hunting and the extent of her trauma is unknown. She has a visible rib cage injury and is extremely hesitant of most people. It look a long time to get Douglas to trust me and to engage in common dog actives. She takes well to an alpha dog and learns quickly. She is extremely dependent on her guardians and has very bad anxiety. Once she warms up to a human she is inseparable. She would thrive with someone that wants a dog that is obsessed with them and wants to cuddle. She's clean and highly intelligent and deserves a beautiful life.

Story
Shiloh is a shy sweet young lady about 1yr old and 7lbs.  Shiloh was picked up as a stray on the streets in Riverside county so she needs some time to trust humans again.  If your family has love and the patience to help her learn  how to trust humans again she will be worth it.  Please come meet her and take her for a walk.  She is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and micro chipped.    --- Come meet our dogs Saturdays and Sundays at Petsmart in Costa Mesa from 11:30-2:30. Story
Hi I am looking for a home for my lolita:( she lives in a home with 4 girls but I believe she deserves a back yard and more time with us we are all so busy I feel she is sad to be alone a lot. I need to find her a PERMANENT home. She has bounced houses and she needs to finally be stable. Lola is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had never has shown any sign of aggression to anyone or anything. She is very well behaved and great on walks. Lola goes everywhere she lives the car she loves the store loves to swim! she just wants to always be by your side. She has so much to give and I don’t think she deserves the life she has right now. It breaks my heart to see her go but I know she will be great wherever she is
