Story

Gwen was code red on her last day when she was rescued from Ramona Humane Society. She came into the shelter picked up by animal control while she was being attacked by two other dogs. Gwen was extremely emaciated and had wounds all over her. Well thanks to the care provided by the shelter and an outside vet, you can't even tell it's the same dog anymore! To no fault of Gwen's she did become dog reactive which comes to no surprise given her history. We took a chance on her and rescued her at the last second and she went straight into training with her wonderful foster. As you can see from the photos, she holds no grudges. She is a happy little girl who just wants to play and now lights up when she gets to play with all the other dogs. She has been working on some basic manners and obedience as well and is progressing beautifully. She loves people and children, to be in your lap demanding attention and has mastered her begging face when you're in the kitchen cooking food. She also can play ball with you for hours and likes to get rubbed while sitting in the kiddie pool. Gwen's ideal home would be with a bully breed experienced adopter, older children would be best as sometimes she doesn't understand all the punch she packs in her little body. She would need proper introduction to other dogs living in the home, and no cats as she has very high prey drive. Gwen would be an amazing addition to a more active home, especially one who does hiking. She's very happy go lucky and outgoing. She can be a ball of energy, but she also knows when it's time to calm down and just relax with the rest of the family. Gwen needs continued guidance and leadership to keep her on the right path to succeeding and being the best dog she can be.

Spero, Male, 7yrs, 15lbs, Italian Greyhound Mix Spero is a dog of both world, energetic and lazy. He has the endurance for 5-8 mile hikes and at the same time can be as lazy as a couch potato. If you decide you need an energetic dog to hike with you, he's there. If you need peace and quiet, he will also make that happen. Spero can be territorial with his personal space but an assertive handler showing leadership will do the job. He would be best in a home with no kids. Once he trusts you, he will be your shadow. He is definitely very loyal and affectionate. He also loves the company of other dogs and is crate and doggie door trained. Caution: With his long legs, he can easily leap over a 4 feet baby gate like nobody's business so a house with secure solid fencing would be ideal.

Torin, is about 5 yo, Male, 12lbs, Fawn/Tan, Beagle/Chi mix Meet Torin! A very playful, sweet, loving pup! Torin loves to play with toys and other dogs. He is a great watch dog as he does need time to warm up to strangers, but once he does you have a friend for life. He loves to be held and cuddle and will give you as many kisses as you want. We also love his turned out feet and shorty legs and low-rider body!

Mikey is a 7 year old rat terrier and chihuahua mix who was rescued then somehow ended up in a kennel for a year. Now he is in a foster home where his personality and charm shines through! Mikey is one of those "soul mate" dogs who completely loves and attaches to his people. Mikey loves to watch television, run around and play, and snuggle on the couch. Mikey is an "eye gazer" and likes to be talked to and cuddled. Mikey is looking for his forever home where he can be adored, loved and cuddled always. Cookie is a healthy 8 year old 12 pound chihuahua corgi mix with a soft coat and gentle eyes. She loves going for walks, hanging out with her doggie friends, and basking in the sun. Cookie Monster is her nickname because she loves all treats! She tries very hard to sit still for treats but just can't be completely still due to her excitement! She currently sleeps in a crate, but would prefer to sleep on the bed with her humans. She is potty trained, knows “sit” and “come”, is good with cats and dogs, and loves to ride in the car especially for puppachino runs. This good girl doesn’t have separation anxiety, she can be active if you want her to be, but also is happy being a couch potato. She doesn’t bark much, usually only At strangers. Cookie needs to be placed in a female only home without small children. If you happen to want to adopt two dogs, she also has a great boyfriend she met in foster care willing to tag along! Posey is 6 years old and 10 pounds. Posey is a very special girl looking for that very special person to love her. Posey is beautiful and sweet, but timid. She also requires daily eye drops, and she has a sinus tumor, which is manageable at this time, but her future is unknown. We give her CBD drops every day, which helps her. We know that this isn't an ideal situation, but we also know that her person is out there and will give her a great life. We are also open to a forever foster situation with the right person with 100% commitment.
