Story
Our family bought Cookie from a local neighborhood family. They told us she was boxer-lab mix. We got her in Oct 2013. During the day Cookie stays outside in our small patio area. She sleeps in our garage. When we let her in the house she is trained to only stay in her bed area. She does not roam around the house freely. She sheds A LOT! Her hair gets everywhere. When she shakes you can see her hair just fall off. She is such a good dog. She does not have any destructive behavior. I know some dogs chew up shoes and furniture, etc. She just sheds. She loves the outdoors. She loves to hike and run in the trails. She had Parvo when she was a puppy and almost died and did not get to socialize too much. I guess she does not know how to play with other dogs. She has done well with some dogs and and I have also seen her get irritated by some dogs. I do not know how she does with cats. We are moving to a home that does not allow dogs. I hope she can find a new family that will love her.

Very friendly. Very good with other dogs. Very good with kids.Approx. 11years old. Is very close with my 5 year old cairn terrier (ahso.) I would like them to stay together if at all possible. Story
He is okay when I give him a bath. But I can't brush him because he gets very scared. Because of his past of being a lost dog.i believe he gets scared easily that at some time or another he was mistreated. He craves love. 🙂 got ahso from the animal shelter in orange ca. He gets easily scared. But continually improving. Very friendly and loving. I he would be okay with kids that are supervised by an adult. Loves to be cuddled and pet. Please keep ( bebe) and (ahso) together if possible they are very attached to each other. Thank you 🙂

Story
We adopted Bruno at the OC Pet Expo 7 years ago. We were told that he was around 10 to 12 months old at that time. Bruno is incredibly sweet, gentle and loyal with his family and people he knows. He is protective of family and his home as well. It takes him a little bit to warm up to new people. With someone new, it takes about 3 visits, taking it slow, for him to get to know the person and accept them as not a threat. He is the same way with other animals. It took about a week of slowly introducing our other dog (pictured) for them to accept each other. He is now super gentle and enjoys her company, but he does not socialize well with other dogs. He does walk well on a leash without pulling. Having a young family with a busy schedule, we would love to be able to take him with us to various activities, however, due to his temperament, we are not able to do so. My desire is that he is able to go to a family who can give him the time and attention he deserves.

Story
I'm Hope, but the humans also call me a "total Sweetheart!" I'm mostly mellow and relaxed, but I do love going to the park for a little bird watching -- (ducks are my favorite), chasing tennis balls but only for a short time, and rolling in the grass! I also love the beach and the ocean, who wants to watch sunrise or sunsets with me? I'd love a family who will keep taking me to my favorite places, but who also enjoy nights in where we might snuggle on the couch watching my favorite shows. I absolutely love food (I mean who doesn't?!) and know when it is time for breakfast or dinner every day. :) I also love meeting new people and will certainly expand your circle of friends, as I like to say 'Rello!' to everyone on my walks! My foster fam even says I've made friends with a three year old little person! It's easy to become best friends with me if you scratch my head or rub my belly! It's the simple things that make me happiest. I can be a little choosy about meeting new dog friends, and am looking for some humans who understand that I would prefer to just live alone without other animals. When hanging out around the house, besides being with my person, I enjoy chewing on hors d'oeuvres like the Kong or Benebone while chilling on my dog bed. I sometimes like to lay by the front door and listen to everything going on outside. I know to do my potty breaks outside, and am a good girl when left alone in the house. I am a pretty easy going girl, I know my basic obedience commands and I can shake with both paws. I hope you'll let me show you how fun life can be by inviting me into your home for snacks and laughs forever. Email us at adopt@ocpbr.org or visit our website to fill out an adoption application. Hope is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Fill out an adoption application here: http://www.ocpbr.org/adopt/adoption-application/ or email adopt@ocpbr.org for more information. Hope is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Adopt HOPE!!

Story
Hi I’m Kalani and I’m the cutest little peanut around! I am about 6 months old, I need to have another dog in the home that is active, playful, well mannered, and will be a great mentor dog for me. I am timid when meeting new doggy friends but once we are friends its playtime game on! I love to snuggle with my foster family humans or on the couch, a dog bed or basically anywhere cuddly...I am a snuggle love. I also love to sunbathe or explore in the yard or park or on walks, my nickname is Dora lol. I am house trained, crate trained, and have started my puppy obedience training. I am fully vetted and completed all of my puppy vaccines. OCPBR only does foster to adopt with young puppies, rather than a straight out adoption because we pay for the foster to adopt to attend group training classes, and we don’t spay and neuter prior to a minimum of 6 months of age for developmental purposes. With a foster to adopt it means you come on board to foster the dog with the intention of adopting once training and spay/neuter is completed. Interested in fostering to adopt Kalani, email us at foster@ocpbr.org. *Please note we do not adopt puppies to households with current senior animals.
