Story
Captain is pretty darn resilient. Considering how weak he is in the hind-end, dragging himself everywhere, it's a wonder he was able to get around on his own before being taken to the shelter as a stray. He doesn't let this slow him down. Captain is about as fast as they come; especially if it's mealtime! He is always cheerful and curious, digging his nose into everything. He's also very playful. He loves a good game of tug-o-war and fetch. As much as he loves his food and play, there's nothing that tickles his fancy more than being held like a baby for belly rubs - giving him the opportunity to look deep into your eyes to connect. Captain has been known to cast a spell or two on his human friends with that deep, brown-eyed gaze! Captain is a social butterfly and though he gets along great with humans and canines alike, he has been known to sometimes nip without warning (though never causing serious pain). Despite his ability to fit in anywhere, he really does prefer the company of humans - content to just lay on a bed nearby to observe the everyday life. Due to his hind-end weakness, Captain needs to be expressed several times a day. Once you've learned how to do it, it becomes second nature. Our staff says he's one of the easiest to handle. In addition, he is also deaf. Ailments aside, this special needs boy truly is ""special"". He is full of personality, happiness and with so much love to give. So take the plunge; Captain is sure to open your heart and life to new adventures!

Story
Gabbana was found as a stray roaming the streets of Tijuana. This sweet lady is partially blind due to an eye that most likely didn't fully develop at birth. She has a calm and gentle disposition and isn't shy about giving as many kisses as you can handle. Gabbana is a great walker, although, she does like to take her time. She's mellow and easy-going and is sure to make a great couch potato buddy. She's not great, however, with other dogs; females especially. We're told she doesn't do well with kids, either, and has shown food aggression. We imagine she's been through quite a lot up to this point. We hope there's someone out there willing to give this sweet girl the patience and loving home she so deserves.

Story
Bugz was relinquished to us by her owner - along with her sister Bunny - because they started pooping in the house. These 2 sweet old gals had been banished to the backyard for the last several months. Bugz isn't the social butterfly that her sister is, but she's still very interactive and has lots of energy and life left in her! She's kind and friendly and gets along beautifully with her canine friends. She likes to be in the know when there's a commotion and is ever-inquisitive of her surroundings. Bugz adores being cuddled and doted on by her human friends, sometimes even quickly giving you a kiss in return. This elegant lady still likes to take a good walk - albeit slow - and nap on a blanket in the rays of the sun. In addition to a good nap, we've found that this special old gal likes carrots, broccoli (both softened) and Pupaccinos from Starbucks! Bugz has an abscess along the gumline that looks to have been there for quite awhile; the teeth have shifted to make room. Aside from that, she's in relatively good health overall. Bugz loves her big sissy so much, that they must go to a home together. Despite their advanced age, please consider this very special pair as part of your forever family.

Story
Stark was taken to the shelter for reasons unknown to us. However, we suspect it's due to the fact that he can't walk. Luckily, he doesn't need to be expressed at this point, as he can still go on his own. Stark is quiet, but still a character. He gets along with other dogs, most the time just wanting to be near them or cuddle up for a nap together. Although not a candidate for walking, he does enjoy a ride in the stroller. We're hoping someone will fall in love with his precious face and take him home as their forever companion.
