Story
You will not be forgotten... Dumped at a high kill shelter in her most time of need, after years of what probably was the best one could expect from a companion, and nonetheless right before Christmas. I have to wonder, was it a new Christmas puppy coming that made you do what you did?  Maybe it was a combination of her age and tumors that convinced you that her time was up and to spare you the expense and wait at a vet clinic it was just easier to drop her off at the shelter.  Did she walk in on her own will, with shaky legs. An angel stepped in to save her without a plan because she will not be able to eat, sleep or enjoy the holiday festivities if sher didn't. I dont even care how it will interrupt my life, she deserves to live her golden years in the best way possible.  Her first priority was to get her here to Camp Dogrrr, she will not be the first neglected senior who has lived out their last year or so here at the farm and she will be with us inside while we open presents on Christmas Day and yes she will have one of her own under the tree as well. She will have the best bed I can find for her old bones and she will be treated as one of the family because I dont know her, but I Love her already. I break into tears at what I think may be going through her mind as to what she did wrong. I want to hug her and tell her she is the best dog ever and I will.  She will have friends and get lots of petting and everyday she will feel the love that you never gave her since she was a puppy and I question even then. Mary is about 80lbs, 13 years old and she is so sweet! She gets along with all other dogs and cats and kids. She is an older girl and she is a strong survivor! She is hard of hearing and has Vestibular Disease, which makes her dizzy, so car rides are hard for her. She has arthritis and she went through a tough cancer surgery a few months ago. She is a wonderful girl. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $325 + 8.25% tax =  $351.81, for dogs over 12 months the adoption fee is $225 + 8.25% tax = $243.66 and for our senior dogs 8 years and up is $100 + 8.25% tax = $108.25; this increase includes sales tax recently required by the State of Texas to collect.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.   Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process. Story
Jiggy’s owners left her behind when they moved. Jiggy stayed loyal to her owners by staying in theproperty in case they came back; unfortunately she was hit by a car one day while she ventured outlooking for food. Due to lack of proper care after her accident, her spine grew crooked causing her to beincontinent (meaning she doesn’t have full control of her bladder or defecation). Jiggy Jill doesn’t realize that she is different than any other dog. She is able to run and play. She is trulythe happiest, silliest and most active pup. Jiggy gets along with other dogs, cats and loves humans.Jiggy is special needs and requires extra care. She is on a special prescription food which keeps herpoops solid for easy clean up. She is also trained to wear diapers and overalls while she is indoors. JiggyJill might have been a throw away stray who nobody cared for but we want to give her the best qualitylife. She definitely deserves it. Story
My name is Lemon.  At three months I was rescued from a neglectful owner, I was dying of parvo.  I was sent directly to the emergency vet and spent several days hospitalized.  I am now a year old but my early experiences have left me very cautious and suspicious of new people.  I am working on my trust issues but I learn quickly especially when treats are involved.  Once I KNOW you, I LOVE you-but I need time, patience and an experienced owner who can keep helping my development. Love Lemon. Lemon is such a sweet loving girl, but first she needs to trust you.  So slow intros with this cutie are a must.  We are working on building Lemon's confidence, she recently went to Home Depot to practice some of her new commands.  Helping her overcome some of her fears and having fun too.  She just needs a little patience and time and she will be such an amazing companion. Lemon was found sick, emaciated, dehydrated and pitiful.  Living in deplorable conditions with several other dogs.  One of outreach volunteers was able to get her into our care. She was only 3 months old and had parvo; she spent a week in the ER getting fluids and medicine to help combat the effects of parvo.  We are going to help this girl get the life she deserves.   Lemon is doing amazing now, she gets to be a healthy, happy puppy now.  You would never know she was ever sick.  Beautiful, playful and ready for her happily ever after. Story
Look how hunky and handsome I am! This boy is the absolute sweetest.  He lives for face scratches...and food!  He was extremely underweight but is now a healthy weight at 80 pounds.  His skin and coat are gorgeous, and his low back/hips seem to be feeling better because he is playing and can now get up on the couch.  He just wants love and attention...and a comfortable place to rest his head.  He has such an easy going temperment.  Loves his daily walks and good meeting new people on his walks. Dog friendly (with medium to large dogs), people friendly, kid friendly, house trained, crate trained.  He's a little 'too interested' in cats and small dogs. Barber is a sweet eight-year-old Rottweiler mix that came into a local shelter as a stray on 10/15. Just look into his eyes and you could tell he was sad and longing for a good home. Barber had some hair loss down the the center of his back and his tail. He is slightly arthritic in his back legs. Judging from the calluses on his elbows he has probably spent most of his life outside. This sweet, sweet senior needed out of the shelter and on to a better life than he’s obviously known thus far. I absolutely fell in love with this precious boy and I know you will too. He is very calm and gentle and chooses to stay close to his human friend. He is very loving. He gives kisses. He sits for treats. He wants to please. Barber is waiting to go home with you. Story
Stallone is literally the sweetest dog I have ever met. He just loves people and other dogs so much, he can't help but be over excited when out on walks. It can be frustrating for Stallone when he sees all these potential dog friends, but the pesky leash is preventing him from unleashing his social butterfly.  We are helping Stallone to make calmer choices, and if he makes the best good choices we might actually let him say hello!  He is working on his leash manners and has come along way.  Stallone working on his “adopt me” smile ...it also doubles as his “gimme all the cookies” face. We can’t even train with this super smart boy without smiling along with him.  He is a big ol' lovebug who just wants to cuddle. His intake pictures have arrived and they are worse than the cold dark photo I received in the “Dog Catcher Truck” asking for help. He is worn and weathered, he was given a blanket while he waited for his ride to “Freedom”, he took it and made it a bed as if it was his first nice thing he has had in a while. All shelters have a mandatory stray hold. The shelter has waived that due to his medical condition. He has clearly had no care at all and NO-ONE is probably missing him. He is just a “STRAY” he belongs to no-one he just wandered the streets for survival! He has a large tumor on his testicles, his nails are long, he his bald, skinny, and has deep wounds. How many people watched him walk by everyday struggling to survive. How many people looked the other way thinking they could not help. For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.  Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.  ##350800##

Story
She could be one of the Golden Girls, yes she's a bit older but she is spunky, sweet and lets you know when she's had enough! This beautiful sweet girl was dumped in a shelter covered with fleas and ticks and in pain all over her body...probably from being kept in small quarters where her muscles atrophied and her skin is worn and missing fur on all parts used to lay down.  Don't think she ever had a comfy bed or gentle hand pet her.  When you saw her in the shelter your thinking this is an old dog...she just laid there in misery.  She would get up when you came to her but wept everywhere you pet her.  Had several litters of pups over the years. Well now, after just two weeks this sweet girl gets so excited when you come home...wags her tail and at times seems like she almost wants to jump up.  She is loving life.  All she wants to do is get pets and snuggle with you.  She has an awesome personality.  She is still sore in some places and has arthritis in her hips and legs but what a difference a little medical care and love can do.  And in actuality she is not even that old, I think in a few more weeks she is going to start building more muscle and getting even stronger...this girl still has a lot of life to live.  If your interested in a chow mix, she will be a great companion maybe not your hiking buddy but your snuggling up watching movies buddy!  Minna is around 9 years old and 30 pounds.
